Evidence in European Asylum ProceduresStaffans, Ida
JFT 2011/6 s. 859
The text demonstrates the differences in asylum procedures in the EU and represents the situation wiht an example of a fairytale. The reality in Europe today is that procedures in Member States are very different and that harmonization in the field of asylum procedures is far from optimal. Reception standards vary from nonexistent or even counter-productive to good. Also recognition rates vary, even for the same groups of persons seeking protection. The procedures in the first as well as at the appellate level are formed differently, including divergent institutions, divergent basis for decisions and divergent manners of investigation.Aihealueet
