Consumer Remedies – The Last Frontier of EU Consumer Law Reform?

This paper combines discussion of one topic that has dominated consumer policy debates in recent years – the minimal and maximal harmonisation debates – with a consideration of consumer remedies, which until recently has hardly featured on the European landscape in a systematic fashion. Although the focus of this essay is on private law redress the first section looks at the interplay between public and private law regimes.
