The criminal repression of racist rhetoric, racist crimes and race discrimination – The Greek example: towards an effective protection of human dignity?

Kaiafa-Gbandi, Maria

JFT 2017/2–4 s. 322

The author examines how the problems of racist rhetoric, racist crimes and race discrimination are addressed in he relevant international and european institutional framework i.e. Conventions of the UN and the Council of Europe, as well as EU legal instruments. The author uses Greece as an example. The author concludes that drawing an overall inference, one could say that both the EU and the Greek institutional frameworks do not seem to even be consistent with an adequate protection against racist violations of human dignity.
